Paris, Luxembourg & the Alps
Your Journey
Paris — Arrival & City Tour
Arrival in Paris with a city orientation covering the hilltop basilica of Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, Arc de Triomphe at the head of the Champs-Élysées, Notre-Dame Cathedral (exterior), the Louvre Museum (exterior), and the Eiffel Tower.
Paris — Luxembourg — Stuttgart
The coach heads east through the French countryside to Luxembourg City — a fortified capital of bridges, towers, and the Alzette River gorge, whose historic old town and fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage site. The drive continues to Stuttgart in Germany for the overnight.
Stuttgart — Black Forest — Zurich
A morning visit to Stuttgart's automotive heritage: the Mercedes-Benz Museum (nine levels tracing the evolution of the automobile from its 1886 origins) or the Porsche Museum. The Black Forest region is crossed on the drive south — dense conifer slopes, traditional farmhouses, and the Rhine valley — before arriving in Zurich, Switzerland, for the overnight.
Zurich — Lauterbrunnen — Jungfraujoch — Interlaken
An alpine excursion to Lauterbrunnen Valley — 72 waterfalls dropping from 300-metre cliffs, including the Staubbach Falls above the village. An optional ascent to Jungfraujoch (3,454 m), Europe's highest railway station and a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a panorama of the Aletsch Glacier. Overnight in Interlaken between Lakes Thun and Brienz.
Interlaken — Zurich — Colmar — Strasbourg
Return through Zurich with an optional visit to the Lindt Home of Chocolate. Cross back into France via Alsace: Colmar's extraordinary ensemble of half-timbered medieval houses, canal-side lanes, and flower boxes is one of France's most photographed old towns. Continue to Strasbourg — the Grande Île (UNESCO World Heritage site) with its Gothic cathedral and the European Parliament quarter.
Colmar — Paris — Departure
A morning in Alsace before the coach returns to Paris for the departure flight.
